Teacher Supply Initiatives by Government

Applications for both Study and Incentive Grants increased this year.  Study grants increased to 180 from 160. 904 Incentive Grants went to services in the Auckland region.  An additional 695 Incentive Grants were approved to services outside the Auckland region in the 2007 round.  Ongoing teacher supply initiatives include Ministry of Education contracts with teacher education providers for Recognition of Prior Learning and re-tendering for ECE teacher recruitment brokers.
